Workshops of Integrated Dance run by Marisa Brugarolas
Dance is an expressive art of communication through movement. This is a creative dance workshop in which people with or without physical disabilities can find a common physical language of communication using the different possibilities which their diverse bodies can offer.
We learn to discover Dance from a wheelchair, from the floor, from contact with others and from the experience and expression through movement. We can all learn from each other.
These workshops are for: - a mixed group of people, with or without physical handicaps. People in wheel chairs, walking frames or walking sticks are especially welcome.
AIMS
- To offer a space for artistic communication where people with or with physical handicaps can work on dance from the same level. - To discover that all of us can express ourselves from whatever body we have.
CONTENTS
- To feel our own body. To develop sensory perceptions and motor skills. - To develop the skill of listening and perception through the movement of the other workshop participants. - To communicate sensations and emotions through movement - To create group choreography starting from our own movements and those of our colleagues - To sense musical and special stimuli.
METHODOLOGY
- All of the proposals can be carried out by all the participants. Every one adapts them to their own possibilities and needs. - The individual time needed for the carrying out of the proposals is respected. - The work is carried out individually, in small groups or in large groups - We combine exercises which encourage the perception, motor development, improvisation and memory. - The idea of group work is strengthened and the developing of a group project through an enriching process.
DURATION
- The duration of the workshop is variable, depending on the needs and possibilities of the group. - The workshop can be of just one session having mainly an informative characteristic. - Intensive workshops of one weekend in length - Intensive workshops of one week in length - Monographic workshops which take on one concrete aspect of Integrated Dance, for specialized groups. Continuous workshops of several weeks/months with one or two sessions a week. - Depending on the length of the workshop, there can also be a public showing at the end of the participants' work.
REQUIREMENTS
- The participants should wear loose, comfortable clothes. - The space should be spacious, accessible with a wooden and/or parquet floor - A good music sound system with good amplification is required - Dressing rooms and toilets should have wheelchair access. - Other requirements will depend on the characteristics of the workshop
